AN EASY 45 MINUTES THAT MAKES EVERY OTHER SESSION BETTER.
Pace Run is our Friday morning give-back — a completely free run club that meets at SALT on Kite Beach before the city wakes up. We warm up together, cover 5 to 8km at an easy zone 2/3 pace, then cool down and stretch as a group. No pressure, no drop-offs, no one left behind. Seasoned marathoners and first-week runners line up side by side, and coaches run the pack so everybody finishes with a conversation still in them. Lace up, bring a friend, and start your Friday properly.
- Running shoes you've already broken in
- Water and a light layer for the walk back
- A friend — this one is better shared
- Optional: watch or phone if you like tracking zones
WHAT AN EASY RUN ACTUALLY BUILDS.
Inside The Session.
PHASE 01 · MEET AT SALT
We gather outside SALT on Kite Beach at 6:00am sharp. Quick hello, quick brief, pace groups sorted so nobody runs alone.
PHASE 02 · DYNAMIC WARM-UP
A short mobility and activation block — leg swings, openers and strides — so the first kilometre doesn't feel like a punishment.
PHASE 03 · THE RUN
45 minutes of easy, conversational zone 2/3 running along the beachfront. Five to eight kilometres depending on your pace group. Coaches run with the pack front and back.
PHASE 04 · COOL-DOWN & STRETCH
We finish where we started with a proper cool-down and stretch, then most of the group stays for coffee. This part matters as much as the run.
Why People Stay.
Marco Russo
leads the Friday pack and has coached runners from first-ever 5km through to marathon finish lines. He's built Pace Run to be the session nobody feels intimidated by — and the one that quietly makes everyone faster.
